The Fasaria Trio

Matthew and Stephen Chamot, brothers with family roots in Cyprus, began their musical journey at a young age and grew up playing multiple instruments in school. One day Matthew picked up a bouzouki on a whim and taught himself to play it, and the rest is history! The Greek music journey had begun. E.J. Katsoulas first entered the picture in 2019. His grandparents moved to the U.S. from Lesvos and Athens, and it was during college that he began Greek dancing. All three of the guys had graduated from CU Boulder with engineering degrees, and in December of 2019 were brought together for Matthew/Stephen's cousin's wedding (Ayathi). EJ was the Koumbaro, and Matthew and Stephen provided a surprise live performance during the reception that went down as an instant classic. Fastforward through the COVID years, another cousin was getting married, Hari--and Matthew and Stephen had plans to take their repeat performance up a notch. They asked EJ if he would join them to sing a few of the songs, a skill he had picked up through the traditional Greek dance competition (Hellenic Dance Festival). The performance was a success, and the gang started to have ideas about capturing the lightning in a bottle. The Fasaria Trio officially formed in Fall of 2022. A good friend of the group, Anthony, invited the Trio to play at a surprise birthday party. Matthew and Stephen grew their repertoire of Greek songs, EJ picked up a djembe to add a percussive element to the mix, and the group was off to the races. The Fasaria name stuck, and the group began bringing live performances to the front range. Over the years, the group has picked up new Greek instruments, expanded their repertoire into new musical regions of Greece, and played at all manner of events ranging from Greek Festivals, to birthday parties, to fundraisers, to baptisms, to weddings, to paniyiria, to restaurants, to GOYA basketball tournaments, to influencer dinners. They love bringing a little taste of Greece to the U.S., and bringing the party to events in the community. We would love to play at your next event--please reach out!
